French President Emmanuel Macron warmly welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Paris ahead of the much-anticipated AI Action Summit, which the two leaders are set to co-chair. Expressing his excitement for the summit, Macron also greeted U.S. Vice President JD Vance, who is attending the event.

Macron shared a post on X, saying, “Welcome to Paris, my friend @NarendraModi! Nice to meet you dear @VP Vance! Welcome to all our partners for the AI Action Summit. Let’s get to work!”

In return, PM Modi posted, “Delighted to meet my friend, President Macron in Paris,” expressing his enthusiasm for the visit.

PM Modi also shared the highlights of his arrival in Paris on X, including his warm reception by the Indian diaspora. As he arrived, members of the Indian community gathered to sing ‘Hare Krishna’ in his honor. One individual shared, “Today is my birthday, it’s a big day for me, and PM Modi blessed me,” while another remarked, “It’s such a wonderful moment that PM Modi is here for the AI Summit. With every visit, we achieve a lot. This time, a new consulate will open, and we hope for a cultural center here too.”

The Prime Minister’s visit is significant, as he will co-chair the AI Action Summit alongside President Macron, engaging with global leaders and tech experts to explore AI advancements for societal benefit. Additionally, the visit marks a historic occasion with the opening of India’s first consulate in Marseille, strengthening diplomatic ties between the two nations.

PM Modi’s trip also includes discussions on the ongoing India-France strategic partnership, with a focus on the Horizon 2047 Roadmap, which aims to enhance long-term collaboration in various key sectors. During his time in France, PM Modi will visit Marseille with Macron to tour the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER), a major international nuclear fusion research project. He will also pay tribute to Indian soldiers who gave their lives in the World Wars with a visit to the Mazargues War Cemetery.

Following his visit to France, PM Modi will head to the United States for a two-day visit at the invitation of President Donald Trump.
