Vivek Ramaswamy Praises PM Modi as “Thoughtful” and “Deeply Knowledgeable” After Meeting

Indian-origin entrepreneur and Republican leader Vivek Ramaswamy on Friday lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi, describing him as “thoughtful” and “deeply knowledgeable” following their meeting at the Blair House in Washington DC.

In a post on social media platform X, Ramaswamy expressed his honor in meeting the Prime Minister during his official working visit to the US. He wrote, “Prime Minister Modi was thoughtful and deeply knowledgeable on a wide range of issues. It was an honor to meet & welcome him today. Wishing you a wonderful trip to the United States, Narendra Modi!”

The meeting, held on Thursday, was attended by Ramaswamy and his father-in-law. During the discussion, they touched upon a range of topics including innovation, culture, and more.

PM Modi also shared his experience of the meeting on X, writing, “Met Mr. @VivekGRamaswamy and his father-in-law in Washington DC. We talked about diverse issues, including innovation, culture and more.”

India’s Ambassador to the US, Vinay Mohan Kwatra, along with other officials, was present at the meeting.

Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal also provided insight into the discussions, stating that PM Modi and Ramaswamy delved into topics like India-US relations, innovation, biotechnology, and the critical role of entrepreneurship in shaping the future. Jaiswal shared this update on X, writing, “PM @narendramodi met with @VivekGRamaswamy at Blair House today. They had insightful discussions on India-U.S. ties, innovation, biotechnology, and the role of entrepreneurship in shaping the future.”

Following the meeting, Ramaswamy spoke to ANI, calling it a “great meeting” and expressing that it was both a “pleasure and honor” to welcome PM Modi to the United States. He wished the Prime Minister a “wonderful visit.”

Before his meeting with PM Modi, Ramaswamy was briefly a contender for the White House but later withdrew from the presidential race. He subsequently voiced his support for former President Donald Trump, whom he had earlier praised as the “best president of the 21st century.”

Ramaswamy had also briefly co-headed the US Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) alongside Elon Musk, but stepped down from the position due to reported differences with the Tesla CEO.
