Congress leader Salman Khurshid, part of India’s all-party delegation currently visiting Japan, has declared that India is receiving “unqualified support” from the international community in its fight against terrorism as part of the Operation Sindoor global outreach initiative.

Speaking to ANI, Khurshid said the response from foreign governments has been “very satisfying”, with countries not only acknowledging India’s security concerns but also expressing readiness to support future action.

“On the fight against terrorism, there is unqualified support for India… Now we must look ahead to what comes next—how we plan and coordinate with our partners to sustain this support,” he said.

Khurshid noted that the groundwork laid during this diplomatic push will be critical for shaping future cooperation, especially from countries like Japan, which have expressed deep empathy and solidarity.

“We’ve laid the foundation. Now, more needs to be done as things unfold,” he added.

Regarding relations with Pakistan, the former External Affairs Minister underlined the need for further action from Islamabad: “We accepted the offer to end hostilities, but Pakistan still has to convince us with real action that it intends to change. The future remains uncertain.”

The Indian parliamentary delegation, led by JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, met top Japanese leaders including Takashi Endo, Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on National Security, and Yoshihide Suga, former Prime Minister and current Vice President of the Liberal Democratic Party.

Suga reiterated Japan’s strong support for India’s position against cross-border terrorism, a message also amplified in official communication by Japan’s foreign ministry and the Indian Embassy in Tokyo.

The delegation also engaged with leading Japanese think tanks, discussing regional security threats, state-sponsored terrorism, and India’s zero tolerance policy. According to India’s Embassy in Japan, participants expressed strong alignment with India’s position and commitment to cooperation.

Meanwhile, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri held a high-level dialogue with Takehiro Funakoshi, Japan’s Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, to deepen bilateral coordination on security and regional stability.

The outreach in Japan is part of a wider international campaign following Operation Sindoor, India’s military response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians. The mission aims to project India’s national consensus against terrorism and galvanize global support against entities fostering or harboring terrorism.
