Janata Dal (United) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, leading a nine-member all-party delegation to Japan, has underscored the unified stance of Indian political parties in condemning terrorism and exposing Pakistan’s long-standing role in promoting proxy warfare against India.

Speaking to the Indian community in Tokyo, Jha said, “We may have political differences and contest elections, but when it comes to the country, we are all together.” He emphasized that terrorism is a national issue transcending party lines, highlighting that both ruling and opposition MPs have come together to take India’s message to the world.

The delegation’s visit is part of a global campaign to counter misinformation and raise awareness about Pakistan’s involvement in cross-border terrorism, following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir. Jha pointed out that Pakistan has been engaging in proxy war for over four decades, targeting civilians and attempting to destabilize India’s tourism-driven economy in the Kashmir region.

Referring to the Indian Army’s swift and targeted response, Jha said, “Prime Minister Modi gave a clear message that we will destroy terrorist camps. Under Operation Sindoor, nine terror camps in Pakistan were neutralized.”

In discussions with Japanese officials, the delegation presented compelling evidence of Pakistan’s support for terror groups. This included photographs of Pakistani Army personnel attending the funerals of terrorists killed in Indian strikes. “They are giving them state funerals,” Jha noted, adding that the Japanese side was “very receptive” to India’s concerns.

The delegation also highlighted the presence of US-designated global terrorist Hafiz Abdul Rauf leading funeral prayers, with the Pakistan Army visibly in attendance — further evidence of Islamabad’s complicity.

Jha said the outreach is part of India’s “new normal” approach to terrorism: “If they attack us, we will enter their home and strike back. This message is very clear.”

The bipartisan delegation includes BJP MPs Aparajita Sarangi, Brij Lal, Pradhan Baruah, Hemang Joshi; AITC MP Abhishek Banerjee; CPI(M) MP John Brittas; former External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid; and Ambassador Mohan Kumar.

The group has already held high-level meetings with former Japanese Defence Minister Minoru Kihara and LDP’s Director General of the International Bureau, Shinako Tsuchiya. After Japan, the delegation will continue its mission across East Asia, engaging with leaders in South Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore as part of India’s broader diplomatic campaign against terrorism.
