Hours before his inauguration, President-elect Donald Trump addressed supporters at the Make America Great Again (MAGA) Victory Rally in Washington, D.C., where he pledged sweeping changes under his leadership. Among the bold promises, Trump declared, “Very soon, we will begin the largest deportation exercise in American history.”
Highlighting his vision for America, Trump criticized open borders, gender-related policies, and other progressive initiatives. “Before this, nobody could even think of open borders, prisons, mental institutions, men playing in women’s sports, and transgenders for everyone,” he said.
Trump also vowed to address pressing global issues, including the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and tensions in the Middle East, while preventing the outbreak of World War III. “I will end the war in Ukraine, stop the chaos in the Middle East, and prevent World War 3 from happening—and you have no idea how close we are,” he asserted.
Immigration reform was a key theme of Trump’s speech, as he criticized the current system and pledged decisive action. He also reiterated his controversial decision to approve TikTok’s operations in the U.S., contingent upon American ownership. “We need to save TikTok because we have to save a lot of jobs. We don’t want to give our business to China. I agreed to approve TikTok on the condition that the USA will own 50% of it,” he stated.
Trump celebrated the early impact of his leadership, coining the term “Trump Effect” to describe the changes already taking shape. “Before even taking office, you are seeing results no one expected to see. Everyone is calling it the ‘Trump Effect.’ It’s you. You are the effect,” he told the energized crowd.
He promised to restore patriotism in schools, remove “radical left and woke ideologies” from the military and government, and end what he called the “failed, corrupt political establishment.” “Once and for all, we are not going to take it anymore,” he declared.
Looking ahead to his inauguration as the 47th President of the United States, Trump spoke of a brighter future: “We are going to take back our country tomorrow at noon. The curtain closes on four long years of American decline, and we begin a brand-new day of American strength, prosperity, dignity, and pride.”
Earlier in the day, Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance attended a wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery to honor fallen soldiers. The solemn event at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier underscored their commitment to patriotism and service.
The inauguration festivities began on January 18 with an exclusive friends-and-family event at Trump National Golf Course in Virginia. This was followed by the MAGA Victory Rally and a private candlelight dinner on January 19. The celebrations will culminate on January 20 with Trump’s official swearing-in ceremony and inaugural ball.
As Trump prepares to take office, his ambitious promises signal a dramatic shift in America’s domestic and foreign policy priorities.
