Former President Donald Trump celebrated the Senate’s passage of the sweeping “One Big Beautiful Bill,” calling it a landmark legislative achievement that promises lower taxes, higher wages, secure borders, and a stronger military — all benefiting the American people most.

The bill passed narrowly with a 51–50 vote, thanks to a tie-breaking vote cast by Vice President JD Vance. Trump praised the outcome on Truth Social, calling it a “major policy win” and a unifying effort by Senate Republicans.

“This is no longer just a House or Senate bill. It’s everyone’s bill,” Trump wrote. “The biggest winner of them all will be the American people, who will have permanently lower taxes, higher wages and take-home pay, secure borders, and a stronger military.”

Trump emphasized that the bill would protect key social programs like Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security from cuts, pledging to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse instead.

As the bill heads to the House of Representatives, Trump urged Republicans to stay united and deliver the bill before July 4. “Ignore the occasional grandstanders and send this bill to my desk,” he said. “The American people deserve it.”

He predicted massive economic growth if the bill becomes law, saying it would “greatly reduce our Federal Deficit” and launch the country into a “new and wonderful Golden Age of America.”

Despite the Senate win, the bill faces a more difficult road in the House, where at least six GOP lawmakers have expressed opposition over concerns including Medicaid cuts, energy incentive changes, and the state and local tax (SALT) deduction revisions. Representative Thomas Massie has also warned against the bill’s potential to add $3 trillion to the national debt.

House Speaker Mike Johnson must now navigate internal divisions to pass what could become one of the defining legislative accomplishments of Trump’s presidency.
