President Donald Trump took a Bollywood-inspired approach to congratulate Kash Patel after his confirmation as the new Director of the FBI.

White House Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino shared a fun video on X, celebrating Patel’s appointment with a playful twist, using the song “Malhari” from the movie Bajirao Mastani. In the video, Kash Patel’s face was superimposed onto Ranveer Singh’s character, adding a lighthearted Bollywood flair to the moment.

The Senate confirmed Patel as FBI Director with a tight 51-49 vote, with all Senate Democrats voting against him. Despite the opposition, Patel received strong support from Republicans, including Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.

In his post, Scavino congratulated Patel and shared that President Trump had officially signed his commission, further inviting followers to connect with Patel on his new X account.

The White House praised Patel’s confirmation as an important step toward restoring integrity to the FBI, underscoring the agency’s renewed focus on fair and unbiased justice. The White House’s statement emphasized the crucial role Patel would play in aligning the FBI with President Trump’s agenda.

However, Patel’s nomination was not without controversy. Democratic Senator Dick Durbin of Illinois criticized him, calling Patel dangerous and inexperienced. Republican Senators Lisa Murkowski and Susan Collins also voted against him, citing concerns over his qualifications. Despite this, Patel has vowed to rebuild the FBI into an organization that is “transparent, accountable, and committed to justice.”

Patel, a former Chief of Staff at the Department of Defense and Senior Director for Counterterrorism at the National Security Council, has a background in national security, intelligence, and law. His experience includes overseeing counterterrorism operations and playing a key role in the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

Born in New York to Gujarati parents, Patel’s journey to the FBI’s top post includes years of service in both legal and governmental roles.
