Strong 6.0-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Mindanao Region of Philippines

A powerful earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale struck the Mindanao region of the Philippines in the early hours of Saturday, according to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS).

The quake occurred at 4:37 AM IST at a depth of 105 kilometres beneath the earth’s surface. Its epicentre was located at latitude 5.28°N and longitude 126.08°E.

The NCS confirmed the event in a post on X, stating: “EQ of M: 6.0, On: 28/06/2025 04:37:10 IST, Lat: 5.28 N, Long: 126.08 E, Depth: 105 Km, Location: Mindanao, Philippines.”

As of now, no reports of casualties or major damage have been released. Further details are awaited.
