A high-level Singaporean ministerial delegation, led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong, arrived in New Delhi on Wednesday for the 3rd India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable (ISMR), aimed at deepening cooperation in emerging sectors.

The delegation includes Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan, Coordinating Minister for National Security and Home Affairs Minister K Shanmugam, Minister for Digital Development and Information Josephine Teo, Minister for Manpower and Minister-in-charge of Energy and Science and Technology Tan See Leng, and Acting Transport Minister and Senior Minister of State for Finance Jeffrey Siow.

India’s side will be represented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, and Electronics, Railways, and Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.

The ISMR, described by the Ministry of External Affairs as a “unique mechanism” to strengthen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, will review progress since the last meeting in Singapore in August 2024 and explore new growth opportunities.

Singapore’s MFA said the roundtable will serve as a key platform to drive collaboration in new and emerging areas. The visit also coincides with preparations to mark the 60th anniversary of India-Singapore diplomatic relations in 2025, underscoring the nations’ shared commitment to expanding their partnership.

The day’s agenda includes plenary discussions at Hyderabad House, official photo sessions, and a call by Minister Balakrishnan on the President of India at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
