BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj, speaking to the Indian diaspora in the UAE as part of a high-level all-party delegation, declared that Sindoor—the name of India’s recent counter-terror operation—has become a new symbol of justice and strength. Her remarks were delivered during a community interaction held as part of India’s global diplomatic outreach following Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.
Swaraj, alongside other members of the delegation led by Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Eknath Shinde, extended heartfelt gratitude to the UAE government for its strong support during a time of national grief and determination. She emphasized that the bond between India and the UAE is deeply reinforced by the vibrant Indian community in the Gulf nation. “It is because of your contributions… your ethos, that today Bharat stands tall,” she told the audience.
Addressing the terror attack and India’s military response, Swaraj said, “What happened on 22nd April was a barbaric attack on our faith, on our existence. When we gave a befitting reply, we touched nine terrorist bases. Pakistan, instead of joining the global war against terrorism, chose to escalate militarily. If you bring war to our door, we will bloody well finish it.”
She urged the diaspora to act as ambassadors of truth, combating misinformation and false narratives about the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor. “You are our brahmastra. Carry this message to your communities, your workplaces, your homes—that India was not the aggressor. India responded with maturity and tremendous restraint,” she added.
Echoing her sentiments, Lok Sabha MP Atul Garg called on the diaspora to amplify India’s voice globally, while Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde addressed the challenge of digital propaganda. “Negativity spreads faster than positivity. But this outreach will improve things on social media too,” Shinde said, emphasizing that their ongoing 13–14 day diplomatic campaign is aimed at changing global perceptions and exposing falsehoods propagated by Pakistan.
The all-party delegation includes MPs Bansuri Swaraj, ET Mohd Basheer, Atul Garg, Sasmit Patra, Manan Kumar Mishra, Surendrajeet Singh Ahluwalia, and former Ambassador Sujan Chinoy. The UAE is the first stop of the four-nation diplomatic tour, which aims to consolidate international support for India’s stance on terrorism and to highlight its policy of zero tolerance.
During their visit, the delegation met Sheikh Nahyan Mabarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, who conveyed his condolences over the Pahalgam attack and reiterated UAE’s support for India.
Operation Sindoor was launched by India following the brutal attack on April 22, in which 26 people lost their lives. Indian forces carried out precision strikes against terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), responding swiftly to Pakistani provocations including cross-border shelling and drone incursions.
A ceasefire understanding was reached after discussions between the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of both countries. Meanwhile, India’s diplomatic outreach continues to press for global unity in the fight against terrorism.
