Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei issued a strong warning to Israel on Saturday, declaring that Iran’s armed forces are fully prepared to confront any aggression and promising a powerful retaliation for recent Israeli airstrikes.
In a series of posts on X, Khamenei accused Israel of making a “grave mistake” and vowed that Iran would not let violations of its airspace or the deaths of its martyrs go unanswered.
“Our Armed Forces are ready, and the country’s officials and all the people are behind them,” he stated.
Calling for a decisive response, Khamenei said: “We must give a strong response to the evil, despicable, terrorist Zionist identity. God willing, we will show no mercy. The Zionist regime will not escape safely from the heinous crime they’ve committed.”
He stressed that Iran’s armed forces would act with full force: “The Islamic Republic’s Armed Forces will deal heavy blows to this evil Zionist enemy. The Iranian people support this. We will triumph, by the will of God.”
In a video address, Khamenei reiterated that Israel would face serious consequences, stating, “Life will become bitter for the Zionists.”
His statements come amid escalating tensions following Israel’s recent airstrikes on Iranian military targets and Iran’s retaliatory missile attacks on Friday. According to The Times of Israel, a woman was killed and five others injured in the latest Iranian barrage.
The situation marks one of the most dangerous escalations between Iran and Israel in recent years, raising concerns of a broader regional conflict.
