Excitement is soaring among members of the Indian diaspora in Argentina as they prepare to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his landmark visit to the South American nation. For many, the visit is a deeply emotional and patriotic moment, with one member declaring, “The josh is very high right now!”

Saurabh Luthra, a member of the diaspora, shared his enthusiasm: “We are fortunate that we will get to meet the Prime Minister. We hope India-Argentina ties grow even stronger.”

Suruchi Chhabra, another Indian-origin resident, described PM Modi as a “world leader who has inspired Indians globally.”

“We are so proud he is visiting here. He has always stood by Indians across the world. We are excited and thankful for everything he has done and will continue to do,” she said.

A long-time resident from Jharkhand, who has lived in Argentina for 30 years, echoed the community’s sentiments: “We are delighted that someone from our country is visiting again. It fills us with pride.”

Adding to the anticipation, Argentine artists—some of Indian origin—are preparing for a cultural welcome ceremony, where they will perform Indian classical dances such as Kathak and Bharatanatyam.
“It’s a privilege to be part of this moment. We will perform ‘Malhari’ and ‘Pushpanjali’ and hope the PM enjoys it,” said Anandini Dasi.

PM Modi is visiting Argentina as part of the third leg of his five-nation tour, which includes Ghana, Trinidad & Tobago, Argentina, Brazil, and Namibia. In Buenos Aires, he will hold bilateral talks with President Javier Milei, focusing on strengthening cooperation in defence, agriculture, energy, trade, investment, and people-to-people ties.
