As United States Vice President JD Vance touched down in India for his maiden official visit on Monday, all eyes were on his family—particularly his three children, who stole the spotlight with their charming appearance in traditional Indian attire.

Ewan, Vivek, and Maribel Vance embraced the spirit of Indian culture by stepping out in vibrant ethnic wear. The two boys donned kurta pyjamas—one in blue and the other in bright yellow—paired stylishly with sporty sneakers, while young Maribel looked adorable in a miniature Anarkali-style suit, complete with an embroidered jacket and matching shoes.

The Vance family, including Second Lady Usha Vance—of Indian origin—was warmly received at New Delhi’s Palam Airport by Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. The welcoming ceremony included a ceremonial Guard of Honour, marking the official commencement of the four-day visit from April 21 to 24.

While JD Vance maintained a formal appearance in a navy blue suit and red tie, and Usha Vance exuded elegance in a red dress and white overcoat, it was the children who charmed the onlookers and social media alike with their endearing display of Indian tradition.

JD Vance is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 6:30 pm on Monday at the Prime Minister’s residence. Their talks are expected to cover key areas including strategic cooperation, trade, and defence partnerships.

Following diplomatic engagements in New Delhi, the Vance family will continue their visit with stops in Jaipur on April 22 and Agra on April 23, where they will tour the iconic Taj Mahal. Their itinerary mirrors visits by other US dignitaries, such as former President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, who visited the monument in 2020.

Adding a personal touch to the high-level trip, residents of Vadluru village in Andhra Pradesh—Usha Vance’s ancestral home—are abuzz with anticipation, hopeful that the Vance family may visit the village during their stay in India.

The visit, which follows a recent diplomatic stop in Italy, is seen as a significant step in further deepening India-US ties, with the Ministry of External Affairs expressing optimism about progress on strategic and economic fronts, including ongoing discussions around a potential trade agreement.
