Indian Ambassador to Japan, Sibi George, on Thursday briefed a visiting All-Party Parliamentary Delegation led by JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, noting that Japan was one of the first countries to condemn the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack. The delegation is visiting Japan as part of a five-nation diplomatic effort under Operation Sindoor, India’s global campaign against cross-border terrorism.

The briefing, held at the Embassy of India in Tokyo, set the tone for the delegation’s engagements in Japan and highlighted India’s strong and unified stance against terrorism, especially in the aftermath of the deadly attack in Jammu and Kashmir.

“On the terror attack and cross-border terrorism, Japan was one of the first countries to respond. This delegation is here to discuss how we engage with our Japanese counterparts and take forward India’s message,” Ambassador George said.

The Indian Embassy in Japan also shared updates on social media platform X, stating: “All-Party Parliamentary Delegation was briefed by Ambassador Sibi George on Japan-specific approach to engagements, setting the context for a strong messaging of India’s fight against terrorism.”

“India’s unwavering stand against cross-border terrorism, as seen in Operation Sindoor, will be highlighted in all engagements.”

The nine-member delegation includes Ambassador Mohan Kumar, BJP MPs Dr Hemang Joshi, Aparajita Sarangi, Brij Lal, and Pradan Baruah, CPI(M) MP John Brittas, and TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee.

The delegation’s visit spans Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Republic of Korea, and Singapore, aiming to brief foreign leaders on India’s response to the Pahalgam terror attack and its commitment to counterterrorism.

India launched Operation Sindoor following the April 22 terror strike, conducting precision strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoJK). Indian armed forces responded robustly to further Pakistani aggression, leading to a mutual ceasefire understanding after military-level talks.

This diplomatic outreach underscores India’s zero-tolerance policy toward terrorism and its determination to expose state-sponsored terror networks at the global level.
