In the wake of the horrific terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed deep sorrow and pledged Israel’s unwavering support to India in its fight against terrorism.
“My dear friend @narendramodi, I am deeply saddened by the barbaric terrorist attack in #Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, that killed and injured dozens of innocents. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims & their families. Israel stands with India in its fight against terrorism,” read a statement from the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office, posted on X.
Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar echoed the sentiment, denouncing the attack as “heinous” and reiterating Israel’s solidarity with India. “Deeply saddened by the heinous terror attack on tourists in #Pahalgam. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families. Israel stands united with India in the fight against terror,” he stated.
The attack, which targeted innocent tourists, has drawn sharp condemnation from across the globe and triggered strong domestic responses. Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired a high-level security meeting in Srinagar, reviewing the situation alongside officials from multiple agencies. He also briefed Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the developments.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, and other senior officials were part of the security discussions. Meanwhile, the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police have launched a joint search operation in the Baisran area of Pahalgam, Anantnag district, to track down the terrorists behind the attack.
The Chinar Corps confirmed the brutal nature of the attack in a statement on X, noting that on April 22, 2025, terrorists opened fire on unsuspecting tourists and locals in what was described as a “cowardly and heart-wrenching” act of violence. Emergency medical teams were quickly mobilized to handle casualties.
In response to the tragedy, people across Sopore, Ganderbal, Handwara, Bandipora, and other regions of Kashmir held candlelight marches, expressing their anguish and solidarity with the victims. Locals and political leaders across India have widely condemned the attack, demanding swift justice for the perpetrators.
As the search operation continues, India remains resolute in its commitment to defeating terrorism, bolstered by international support, including that from close allies like Israel.
