The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) has confirmed that key nuclear facilities in Fordow, Isfahan, and Natanz were targeted in U.S. airstrikes early Sunday and condemned the attacks as a violation of international law, while vowing to press forward with its nuclear program.

In a statement shared by the Iranian Embassy in India, the AEOI described the strikes as “savage aggression” that breached international legal frameworks, including the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

“This action, which violates international regulations, unfortunately took place under the indifference—and even complicity—of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA),” the AEOI stated.

It further alleged that the U.S., having claimed responsibility through statements by President Donald Trump, had attacked nuclear facilities that were under regular IAEA monitoring as per international agreements.

In a defiant message, the AEOI assured Iranians that the country’s nuclear program would not be halted, declaring that the sector was built on the sacrifices of “nuclear martyrs.”

“Despite the malicious plots of its enemies, with the dedication of thousands of revolutionary and motivated scientists and experts, [Iran] will not allow the development of this national industry to be halted,” the statement read.

The agency also stated that legal steps are being taken to uphold Iran’s rights and condemned the attack as part of a broader strategy to undermine the country’s sovereignty.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) responded later, confirming that no increase in off-site radiation levels had been reported following the strikes.

“IAEA will provide further assessments on the situation in Iran as more information becomes available,” it added in a social media post.

The U.S. launched what President Trump called a “massive precision” military strike on three of Iran’s nuclear facilities—Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan—warning Tehran of further action if peace was not pursued.

The attack comes amid escalating tensions in West Asia, with the U.S. now openly backing Israel in its ongoing conflict with Iran. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hailed the U.S. operation, calling it a “bold decision” that would “change history.”

The crisis began on June 13, when Israel launched “Operation Rising Lion” against Iranian military and nuclear assets. Iran responded with “Operation True Promise 3”, a large-scale drone and missile offensive targeting Israeli infrastructure.

With hostilities entering their ninth day, the international community is closely monitoring the situation, as fears of a wider regional conflict continue to grow.
