Indian Ambassador to Egypt Suresh K Reddy hailed the recent visit by an all-party parliamentary delegation to Egypt, calling it a “crucial mission” to counter misinformation spread by Pakistan and to present India’s unified stance against terrorism.

“In today’s era of social media and information overload, it’s vital to present the facts clearly. This delegation helped dispel Pakistan’s misinformation and ensured countries ask Pakistan the right questions,” Ambassador Reddy told ANI.

Led by NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar faction) MP Supriya Sule, the Indian delegation met with key Egyptian leaders and lawmakers, including the Leader of the Upper House, top senators, and members of the Foreign Relations Committee. Ambassador Reddy highlighted that these meetings were “very productive” and helped amplify India’s democratic voice and the public sentiment following the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.

“The Egyptian side clearly stated that terrorism cannot be justified in any form and condemned it unequivocally,” Reddy noted.

Apart from formal interactions, the delegation also met opinion leaders and members of the Indian diaspora in Egypt. Reddy said these engagements helped further India’s message and allowed the Indian community to express their solidarity and concern over the attack that claimed the lives of 26 civilians.

Earlier, Supriya Sule expressed gratitude to the Egyptian leadership for supporting India during this difficult time and reiterated that the visit was part of Operation Sindoor, launched under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s direction. The initiative has sent seven Indian parliamentary delegations to countries around the world to explain India’s position on cross-border terrorism.

Sule emphasized the historic ties between India and Egypt and said the countries are uniquely placed to strengthen cooperation in peace, trade, and cultural exchange.

The Indian delegation included MPs Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Vikramjeet Singh Sahney, Manish Tewari, Anurag Singh Thakur, Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu, Anand Sharma, V Muraleedharan, and Syed Akbaruddin.

During their visit, the group also paid floral tribute at the Heliopolis War Memorial in honor of Indian soldiers who lost their lives in World War I and II.
