An Indian all-party parliamentary delegation led by JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha arrived in Singapore on Tuesday as part of a global diplomatic outreach following the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The delegation seeks to garner international support against terrorism emanating from across India’s borders.

Before arriving in Singapore, the delegation visited South Korea, where MP Sanjay Kumar Jha delivered a strong message during an interaction in Seoul. He stated that the terrorists responsible for the Pahalgam massacre—where 25 Indian and one Nepali citizen were killed—had been trained in Pakistan. Jha stressed that the victims were targeted based on their religion and murdered in front of their families, underlining the brutality of the attack.

Calling for international solidarity in the fight against terrorism, Jha pointed to South Korea’s influential role as a member of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). “We have been facing cross-border terrorism for four decades now… South Korea is a very important partner for us,” he said.

Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Abhishek Banerjee, also part of the delegation, echoed Jha’s sentiments. He sharply criticised Pakistan’s continued inaction against terror groups, citing India’s history of suffering from major terror incidents, including the 2008 Mumbai attacks and the 2016 Uri and Pathankot attacks.

“India has shown restraint and strength, but that should not be mistaken for weakness,” Banerjee stated. He emphasized that while India does not seek war, it demands justice and will respond decisively when provoked.

The delegation’s visit is part of a broader campaign launched by the Indian government to brief international partners on the country’s response to the Pahalgam attack and reaffirm its zero-tolerance stance on terrorism.

Operation Sindoor, launched on May 7, was India’s military response to the April 22 attack, targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The operation resulted in the elimination of over 100 terrorists linked to groups such as Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen.
