An all-party Indian parliamentary delegation led by DMK MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi arrived in Greece on Tuesday evening as part of a diplomatic mission to strengthen international cooperation against terrorism. The group was welcomed at the airport by Indian Ambassador to Greece, Rudrendra Tandon.

Over the course of their one-and-a-half-day visit, the delegation is scheduled to meet with Greek government officials, parliamentarians, and media representatives. Their discussions will focus on highlighting the threat of terrorism emanating from Pakistan and India’s recent counter-terror operation, codenamed Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.

Former Indian Ambassador to the European Union, Manjeev Singh Puri, reflecting on earlier visits to Russia and Slovenia, underscored the strong international support India is receiving. “We had excellent meetings in Russia and Slovenia,” Puri told ANI. “Both countries stood firmly with India on the global fight against terrorism. Slovenian officials even described terrorism as the ‘cancer of the modern world’ that must be decisively eradicated.”

Puri emphasized the importance of global consensus, especially in light of Pakistan’s current seat on the UN Security Council. “Having both permanent and non-permanent members aligned with our stance ensures that Pakistan cannot divert the narrative and remains accountable for its role in fostering terrorism,” he said.

The Greek visit is part of a broader multi-nation tour by the Indian delegation, which comprises representatives from several political parties: Rajeev Rai (Samajwadi Party), Mian Altaf Ahmad (Jammu and Kashmir National Conference), Brijesh Chowta (BJP), Prem Chand Gupta (Rashtriya Janata Dal), Ashok Kumar Mittal (Aam Aadmi Party), and former diplomats Manjeev Singh Puri and Jawed Ashraf.

The mission, spanning Spain, Greece, Slovenia, Latvia, and Russia, is organized into seven groups, each headed by a different Member of Parliament. The initiative is designed to counter misinformation and affirm India’s zero-tolerance policy toward terrorism on the global stage.
