Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee, speaking in Japan as part of a high-level all-party delegation, declared that India will never kneel to fear, as he called for a united global front to combat terrorism and expose Pakistan’s role in fostering cross-border violence.
Addressing the Indian diaspora in Japan, Banerjee said, “We are here to share the message and the truth that India refuses to bow down. We will not kneel to fear.” Stressing that his party may be in the Opposition but stands firm on national interest, he remarked, “If terrorism is a rabid dog, then Pakistan is a wild handler. And unless we act together, this handler will breed more such threats.”
Banerjee emphasized that the delegation, made up of MPs from across party lines, has brought concrete proof of Pakistan’s involvement in sponsoring terrorism. “Today it is India, tomorrow it could be another country. We are here united—with evidence—to make the world understand that India’s response is responsible, precise, and non-escalatory,” he said.
The TMC leader also referenced the Pahalgam terror attack and India’s targeted response under Operation Sindoor, which neutralised nine terror bases in Pakistan without harming civilians. “We waited 15 days, responded with precision, and ensured not a single civilian life was endangered. This is India’s commitment to justice—not vengeance,” he added.
Highlighting the need to counter Pakistan’s victim narrative, Banerjee said, “Pakistan always tries to portray itself as a victim. But the world needs to see who the real aggressor is. We are here to expose the truth.”
Banerjee pointed to The Resistance Front (TRF), a Lashkar-e-Taiba proxy, which claimed responsibility for the Pahalgam attack, stating that Pakistan continues to shield such groups on international platforms, including at the UN.
He urged the international community to recognize India’s leadership in the fight against terrorism and propagate the message of collective action.
The delegation—led by JD(U) MP Sanjay Jha—includes MPs from BJP, CPI(M), and TMC, along with Ambassador Mohan Kumar. The team will also visit Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, and Singapore as part of India’s diplomatic offensive to build global consensus on counterterrorism and highlight its zero-tolerance policy in the aftermath of the April 22 terror strike.
India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 in response to the attack, targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Following escalations, both nations have since reached a ceasefire understanding through military dialogue.
