India’s recent precision strikes under Operation Sindoor have flattened a key terror facility in Muridke, Pakistan—long known as the headquarters of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). The strikes come in retaliation to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 lives.

Muridke’s Markaz Taiba, a sprawling complex used for arms training, indoctrination, and recruitment of militants, has been reduced to rubble. This facility, notorious for training 26/11 attackers including Ajmal Kasab, was also visited by terror operatives David Headley and Tahawwur Rana on orders from LeT commander Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi.

According to visuals and satellite imagery obtained by Reuters and Maxar Technologies, four major buildings—including the administrative block, mosque, and residential quarters—were destroyed in the attack. Sheikhupura’s Additional Deputy Commissioner, Usman Jaleesm, confirmed the destruction, noting that all four missiles hit their targets in under 10 minutes.

Eyewitness accounts from locals described a night of terror as drones preceded the missile strikes. “It was 12:45 at night… a drone came, then three more… fear spread among the people,” a resident told Reuters.

India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, along with Colonel Sofiya Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, briefed the media on Wednesday, stating that nine terror sites—five in Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir (PoJK) and four in mainland Pakistan—were hit with surgical precision. These included infrastructure linked to both Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and LeT.

“Operation Sindoor was executed to bring justice to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack,” Wing Commander Singh stated. “Targets were chosen carefully to avoid civilian casualties while dismantling terror infrastructure that has been operating for decades.”

The operation was a joint effort by the Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy, conducted between 1:05 and 1:30 am on Wednesday. The targeted sites formed part of Pakistan’s 30-year-old terror ecosystem involving 21 indoctrination, recruitment, and launch-pad facilities.

India’s decisive and coordinated military response underscores its zero-tolerance policy for cross-border terrorism, sending a clear message across the region.
