President-elect Donald Trump promised on Sunday that within hours of taking office as the 47th President of the United States, he would revoke dozens of what he called “destructive and radical” executive orders from the Biden administration, declaring them “null and void” by the end of the day.
Speaking at a candlelight dinner at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C., Trump vowed to take swift action on his first day in office. “With the stroke of my pen, I will revoke dozens of destructive and radical executive orders and actions from the Biden administration. By this time tomorrow, they will all be null and void,” he said in a video posted by Trump War Room on X, citing Fox News.
Trump further stated that his administration would waste no time addressing critical issues. “Within hours of taking office, I will sign nearly 100 executive orders,” he said. “These will tackle key challenges like immigration, inflation, and border security.” Trump emphasized that his administration would follow the motto “promises made, promises kept”, building on the success of his first term and vowing that his second term would surpass it.
“We had a very, very successful last administration. And this one, I think, is going to be even more successful, maybe a lot more successful, if that’s possible,” Trump added. He continued, “In less than 24 hours, the invasion of our borders will end, and the restoration of our sovereignty will begin. We will stop criminals from pouring into our country from around the world immediately. We will quickly defeat the inflation crisis and unlock the liquid gold.”
Trump sharply criticized the Biden administration, labeling the past four years as a period of “failure, disaster, and decline.” He promised that his administration would immediately address both domestic and global challenges. “Tomorrow, we will end four years of failure, disaster, and decline. And we will begin the four greatest years in the history of our country,” he declared.
Trump also expressed confidence that his new administration would deliver solutions that many thought impossible. “We’re inheriting a nation faced with crisis at home and abroad… It’s been a long four years. Nasty. It’s been a nasty four years,” he said.
Donald Trump is set to be sworn in as the 47th President of the United States on Monday, January 20, at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. This will mark his return to the presidency after serving as the 45th President from 2017 to 2021.
Trump’s promises of immediate executive action and bold policy shifts signal a fast-paced and transformative start to his second term, with a focus on securing American borders, tackling inflation, and reversing key actions taken by the Biden administration.
