External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met with the President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, during his official visit to the UAE. Jaishankar conveyed the warm greetings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discussed the ongoing progress in the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between India and the UAE.
On social media, Jaishankar shared, “Honoured to call on HH Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Conveyed warm greetings of PM Narendra Modi. Discussed the continued progress in our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and value his guidance for its future growth.”
Earlier in the day, Jaishankar also met with the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Reflecting on the meeting, Jaishankar posted, “Pleased to meet Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi HH Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Recalled his recent visit to India and discussed further advancement of India-UAE partnership.”
Sheikh Khaled had attended the 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit in January 2024 as the Chief Guest.
In addition, Jaishankar met Anwar Gargash, Diplomatic Advisor to the President of the UAE. He wrote, “Nice to meet Anwar Gargash, Diplomatic Advisor to the President, UAE this morning. Discussed our special partnership and its further progress.”
The External Affairs Minister also participated in the inaugural session of the Raisina Middle East conference in Abu Dhabi during his visit.
Jaishankar’s visit, which took place from January 27 to 29, aims to strengthen the relationship between India and the UAE and enhance bilateral cooperation. India and the UAE have enjoyed strong diplomatic relations since 1972, when both countries established embassies in each other’s capitals. Over the years, their partnership has grown into a dynamic and multifaceted relationship.
