A Delta Airlines flight crashed while attempting to land at Toronto Pearson International Airport on Monday, overturning onto the snowy ground, ABC News reported.
Peel Regional Police confirmed that eight people were injured in the incident. One of the injured was reported to be in critical condition, though none of the injuries were considered life-threatening. The remaining seven passengers and crew members sustained injuries ranging from moderate to mild.
The flight, which had arrived from Minneapolis, saw all passengers and crew evacuated safely. The cause of the crash, including why the plane flipped and caught fire, remains under investigation, according to sources speaking to ABC News.
Toronto Pearson International Airport responded to the situation, acknowledging the crash and confirming that emergency teams were on the scene. A statement posted on X read, “Toronto Pearson is aware of an incident upon landing involving a Delta Airlines plane arriving from Minneapolis. Emergency teams are responding. All passengers and crew are accounted for.”
