Colombian presidential candidate Miguel Uribe was shot during a public event in Bogota’s Fontibon district, according to a statement from the Colombian national police cited by CNN.
Bogota Mayor Carlos Galan confirmed that Uribe is currently receiving emergency medical treatment and that the city’s entire hospital network is on high alert in case a transfer becomes necessary.
Authorities have arrested the suspected assailant, and an investigation is underway.
