An Indian all-party parliamentary delegation, led by JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, paid floral tributes to legendary freedom fighter Rash Behari Bose at Tama Cemetery in Tokyo on Saturday. The visit coincided with the eve of Bose’s birth anniversary and marked a solemn conclusion to the delegation’s Japan leg, which began with tributes to Mahatma Gandhi.

The Indian Embassy in Japan shared details of the event on social media platform X, stating: “Hon’ble Member of Parliament Shri Sanjay Kumar Jha, Head of the All Party Parliamentary delegation, paid floral tributes to freedom fighter Rash Behari Bose at Tama Cemetery, Tokyo, on the eve of his birth anniversary. Drawing inspiration from the unwavering courage of our freedom fighters, India today stands united with a resolve to combat terrorism in all its forms. Never Forget Never Forgive.”

Earlier in the day, the delegation engaged with the Indian diaspora at India House in Tokyo, where they addressed the recent terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22 and India’s subsequent military response—Operation Sindoor. During the interaction, the delegation emphasized India’s firm position against cross-border terrorism, clearly attributing the attacks to Pakistan and reinforcing the message that “terror and talks cannot go together; blood and water cannot flow together.”

A statement by the Indian Embassy noted: “The delegation presented a unified front of India, clearly explained the role of Pakistan in the gruesome terror attacks in Pahalgam and how India, through Operation Sindoor, destroyed terror bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.”

The delegation also urged members of the Indian diaspora to support India’s global outreach by spreading awareness about the country’s stance on terrorism.

“They reaffirmed India’s unwavering commitment to combating cross-border terrorism and urged the Indian diaspora to continue to spread this message to every corner of Japan,” the Embassy added. The delegates expressed appreciation for the community’s recent tribute at the Embassy to the Pahalgam terror victims, echoing the sentiment: Never Forget Never Forgive.

The nine-member delegation includes BJP MPs Aparajita Sarangi, Brij Lal, Pradhan Baruah, Hemang Joshi; AITC’s Abhishek Banerjee; CPI(M) MP John Brittas; former External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid; and Ambassador Mohan Kumar.

Following their engagements in Japan, the delegation is expected to visit other East Asian countries as part of India’s diplomatic campaign to garner global support against terrorism.
