Ecstatic fans thronged the streets, lit fireworks, and filled pubs, bars, and restaurants decked in RCB colors. Crackers lit up major roads as chants of “Ee Sala Cup Namde” echoed through the city well into the early hours of Wednesday.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah hailed the win as “historic,” stating, “From electrifying performances to unshakable spirit, this triumph has ignited the pride of Karnataka.” He credited RCB’s organized team effort and lauded Virat Kohli’s unwavering dedication over nearly two decades.
Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, watching the match from Bengaluru, also celebrated enthusiastically. “This time, the cup is ours,” he said, praising the team’s unity and highlighting the pivotal performances of Rajat Patidar and Virat Kohli.
Union Minister and JD(S) leader H.D. Kumaraswamy called it a “magnificent milestone in Karnataka’s cricket history,” congratulating the team and especially Virat Kohli for his 18-year-long commitment to the franchise.
Karnataka BJP President B.Y. Vijayendra described the win as “personal for every fan who stood by RCB,” while former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai praised the team’s precision and spirit under captain Rajat Patidar’s leadership, calling the win a “stellar end to a stellar campaign.”
The IPL 2025 final, held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, will go down as a historic moment not only for RCB but for millions of fans across Karnataka and the globe.
