“Won’t Be Intimidated by Govt or Agencies”: Robert Vadra After ED Questioning in Gurugram Land Case

Businessman Robert Vadra on Tuesday emerged from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office in Delhi after hours of questioning in connection with the Gurugram land case. Taking a break for lunch before resuming the session, Vadra remained defiant, calling the probe a “politically motivated” attempt to silence him.

“I am not going to be intimidated by this government or any agency. I am here to answer every question,” Vadra told ANI during the break.

Reiterating that the case is decades old and lacks merit, Vadra said, “They’re asking me about a 20-year-old case. In 2019 itself, I submitted 23,000 documents. We follow all rules in every transaction. This is just political vendetta. They can ask me anything — I have nothing to hide.”

Earlier in the day, Vadra made a symbolic walk from his residence to the ED office, speaking to the press along the way. “There’s nothing in the case… Every time I speak up for the country or show political intent, they bring this up to distract from real issues,” he said.

He accused the BJP government of weaponizing central agencies against the opposition. “When I say I want to serve the people, when Rahul (Gandhi) wants to speak in Parliament, we are stopped. This is being done deliberately to divert attention.”

Vadra further highlighted the burden of repeatedly facing questioning over a prolonged period. “I have been summoned 15 times over the last 20 years and have sat for over 10 hours each time. Organising 23,000 documents again within a week is no small task,” he stated.

The husband of Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Robert Vadra has also indicated a willingness to formally enter politics. Speaking in an earlier interview, he said, “If my party and family feel I should step into politics, I’ll do so with their blessings.”

As the ED questioning continues, Vadra has maintained a cooperative yet vocal stance, underscoring his belief that the ongoing probe is less about justice and more about political optics.
