India is celebrating its 76th Republic Day with a grand parade at Kartavya Path in New Delhi, showcasing the country’s rich cultural diversity, unity, equality, development, and military prowess. President Droupadi Murmu will lead the celebrations, with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto attending as the Chief Guest.
In a move to enhance public participation, around 10,000 Special Guests have been invited to witness the parade. These individuals, including high achievers and beneficiaries of government schemes, represent the architects of Swarnim Bharat and will be part of the historic event.
A major highlight of this year’s Republic Day celebrations will be the first-ever tri-services tableau, symbolizing the integration and coordination among the armed forces. Under the theme ‘Shashakt aur Surakshit Bharat’ (Empowered and Secure India), the tableau will showcase a Joint Operations Room that facilitates communication among the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
The parade will begin at 10:30 AM, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi paying tribute to fallen heroes at the National War Memorial before proceeding to the saluting dais at Kartavya Path.
The parade will feature gallantry awardees, including Param Vir Chakra recipients Honorary Captain Yogendra Singh Yadav (Retd) and Subedar Major Sanjay Kumar (Retd), as well as Ashok Chakra winner Lt Col Jas Ram Singh (Retd). Additionally, for the first time, a marching contingent from Indonesia’s Military Academy will participate, consisting of 152 members and 190 military band members.
The parade will conclude with the national anthem and the release of balloons commemorating 75 years since the Constitution came into effect. This year’s Republic Day celebrations reflect India’s continued progress and commitment to democracy, unity, and a brighter future.
