Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday celebrated eight years of BJP governance in the state, highlighting the achievements of his “double-engine government” under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He credited the government for delivering “service, safety, and good governance” to the people of Uttar Pradesh.

Speaking at a special program to mark the occasion, CM Yogi expressed his gratitude to the 25 crore people of UP for their support. The event was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, Minister Brajesh Pathak, Minister Chaudhary Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary, and other dignitaries.

“Under PM Modi’s leadership, the UP government has completed 8 years of service, safety, and good governance. The state’s transformation proves how effective governance can change lives,” CM Yogi stated during a press conference.

Comparing the current government’s tenure with previous administrations, CM Yogi emphasized that UP was once struggling with poor infrastructure, a weak economy, and lawlessness.

“Eight years ago, UP was facing an identity crisis. Farmers were committing suicide, youth were struggling, daughters and traders felt unsafe, and riots were rampant. The economy was suffering because of lawlessness,” he said.

However, he pointed out that the same state machinery now functions differently due to BJP’s governance.

“The system is the same, the administration is the same, yet by changing the government, we have brought a massive transformation. Law and order, economic growth, and development have all improved under our leadership,” CM Yogi added.

Yogi Adityanath became the Chief Minister in 2017, when the BJP secured a historic victory in the UP Assembly elections, winning 312 out of 403 seats despite not projecting a CM face.

In 2022, the BJP again won 255 seats, and with the support of allies, retained power, making Yogi Adityanath the first CM in UP’s history to win two consecutive terms.

With the 2024 Lok Sabha elections approaching, CM Yogi’s remarks signal the BJP’s confidence in its governance model, positioning Uttar Pradesh as a success story under the “double-engine government” of Modi and Yogi.
