Rijiju had visited the Nizamuddin Aulia Dargah in Delhi to offer prayers. He was accompanied by the National President of the BJP Minority Morcha, Jamal Siddiqui, who also offered a ‘chadar’ at the Dargah. The duo emphasized their commitment to PM Modi’s message of brotherhood and peace for the nation.
The ‘chadar’ offered at Ajmer Sharif Dargah on Saturday marks the occasion of the Urs of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, the revered 13th-century Sufi saint. Prime Minister Modi had personally handed over the ‘chadar’ to Rijiju on Thursday for this purpose. This marks the 11th consecutive year that PM Modi has participated in the tradition, sending a ‘chadar’ to the shrine.
Last year, during the ‘chadar’ was presented to the shrine by Union Minister Smriti Irani, along with Jamal Siddiqui and a Muslim community delegation, on behalf of the Prime Minister.
