Debris from an unidentified object was recovered in the Lasjan area of Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, early Saturday morning. The fragments were found scattered between a cluster of residential houses, with locals narrowly escaping harm. No injuries or major property damage were reported.

According to a resident named Ashraf, a loud explosion was heard around 5:45 AM, followed by a visible blast in the air. Upon inspection, he discovered scattered debris near his home and promptly contacted the local head, who informed police authorities. The fragments were later collected by the police for further examination.

“There was a loud explosion at 5:45 AM… we didn’t know what it was, but we informed authorities immediately. Thankfully, no one was hurt,” Ashraf told ANI.

In a similar incident the same morning, fragments of another unidentified projectile were discovered in a field in Mughlani Kot Village in Punjab’s Amritsar district. The surrounding area appeared charred, though no casualties were reported. Local residents suspect the debris may have come from a downed drone.

“There was a blast around 5 AM… parts of a drone are lying here. It’s wrong what they are doing, but we’re giving them a fitting reply,” said one villager.

These developments come amid heightened India-Pakistan tensions. India launched retaliatory strikes on at least four Pakistani airbases following Pakistan’s attacks on 26 Indian locations, according to top government sources. Intermittent firing is ongoing along the Line of Control (LoC).

The Ministry of Defence confirmed drone sightings at 26 locations across the International Border and LoC, including Baramulla, Srinagar, Jammu, and Ferozpur. In one instance, an armed drone struck a civilian area in Ferozpur, injuring a local family. Indian forces remain on high alert, with counter-drone systems actively deployed.

Citizens in border areas are being urged to remain indoors and strictly follow safety advisories, as authorities continue to monitor the situation closely.
