Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Manoj Kumar Jha launched a scathing attack on US President Donald Trump on Sunday, accusing him of trying to position himself as the “Sarpanch of the world” through repeated claims of mediating peace between India and Pakistan in return for trade deals.

Speaking ahead of the Monsoon Session of Parliament, Jha also urged a thorough discussion on critical national issues, including the Pahalgam terror attack, Operation Sindoor, and what he described as India’s growing diplomatic isolation on the global stage.

“Trump is eager to become the Sarpanch of the world. He has claimed 24-25 times that he stopped wars. It’s time our government responds, not through anonymous sources but directly—through the Prime Minister,” Jha told ANI.

The RJD MP demanded answers from the Centre regarding the Pahalgam attack that claimed 26 lives and Operation Sindoor that followed. He also criticised the Election Commission for alleged large-scale deletion of voter names in Bihar ahead of the Assembly elections.

“In Bihar, people’s names are being erased from the electoral roll. This is a rare threat to Indian democracy, and the credibility of the Election Commission is under serious question. If these issues are not discussed in Parliament, then what is the point of the session?” he said.

The Monsoon Session, scheduled to begin on July 21 and continue till August 21, will focus on several key bills. These include:

The agenda also includes older bills like the Readjustment of Representation of Scheduled Tribes in Goa Bill, 2024, the Merchant Shipping Bill, 2024, the Indian Ports Bill, 2025, and the Income Tax Bill, 2025.

Jha concluded by emphasizing that national security, democratic integrity, and foreign policy coherence must take precedence over partisan politics during the session.
