Rajesh Narwal, father of Indian Navy Lieutenant Vinay Narwal who was killed in the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, hailed Operation Sindoor as a bold and just response by the Indian government, asserting that the strike will serve as a lasting deterrent to future acts of terrorism.

Speaking after Indian Armed Forces launched precision strikes on nine terror targets across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), Narwal said, “I had full faith in the Indian government, and today, they have done what was needed. This strike will always resonate in their minds and they will think a hundred times before doing such a thing in the future.”

He added that naming the operation “Sindoor” was a powerful tribute to the victims and their families. “With this action, all 26 families will get justice,” he said.

Lieutenant Vinay Narwal, a native of Karnal, Haryana, had recently married and was visiting Pahalgam with his wife while on leave from his posting in Kochi when terrorists opened fire, killing him and 25 others, including one Nepali citizen.

The Indian military’s deep-strike retaliation — coordinated by the Army, Navy, and Air Force — targeted key infrastructure used by Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in areas including Bahawalpur, Muridke, Sialkot, and PoJK. According to sources, all targets were successfully neutralized using precision-guided munitions, with no Pakistani military facilities involved.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi monitored the mission throughout the night. According to CNN, this marks India’s deepest strike inside Pakistan’s undisputed territory since the 1971 war.
