Rajasthan Water Resources Minister and BJP leader Suresh Singh Rawat has launched a sharp attack on Pakistan, supporting the Centre’s decision to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty in the wake of the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 people on April 22.

Speaking to ANI, Rawat condemned Pakistan’s repeated involvement in terror activities and questioned why India should continue supplying water under the treaty when the country “drinks our water and kills our people.”

“If the rivers flowed from Pakistan to India, they would have blocked them long ago. But India upheld its responsibility. Even after receiving water from Indian rivers, Pakistan continues to sponsor terrorism,” said the minister.

He also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s strong words following the attack, where the PM vowed to pursue terrorists “to the end of the earth.” Rawat echoed the sentiment, stating, “Killing unarmed people based on religion is inhumane and intolerable. The whole nation stands with the PM and Home Minister.”

Earlier, PM Modi had assured the nation that justice would be delivered, declaring during a rally in Bihar that India will hunt down every terrorist and their supporters responsible for the Pahalgam attack.

Meanwhile, security forces remain on high alert across Jammu and Kashmir, conducting intensive search operations to neutralize the attackers. The incident has triggered widespread protests nationwide, with citizens demanding stringent action against Pakistan and a permanent end to cross-border terrorism.
