Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Saturday brushed aside concerns over an FIR filed against him in Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli, asserting that he is “not scared” of legal action. The case was registered over an alleged objectionable post on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Speaking to reporters in Katihar, the former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister questioned whether using the word “jumla” had now become a crime, alleging that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was afraid of the truth.

“Who is scared of an FIR? Saying the word ‘jumla’ has also become a crime… They fear the truth. We are not scared of any FIR, and we will keep speaking the truth,” Yadav said.

The complaint was filed by BJP MLA Milind Ramji Narote, leading to the registration of the FIR at Gadchiroli Police Station under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The case pertains to posts allegedly targeting the Prime Minister’s visit to Bihar’s Gaya district on Friday, where he inaugurated and laid foundation stones for projects worth ₹13,000 crore.

During the event, PM Modi flagged off two trains — the Amrit Bharat Express between Gaya and Delhi, aimed at improving passenger comfort and safety, and the Buddhist Circuit Train between Vaishali and Koderma, intended to boost tourism at key Buddhist sites.

Addressing a rally in Gaya, Modi also launched a sharp attack on the Opposition, calling RJD’s past rule in Bihar an “era of darkness,” and accusing previous governments of corruption and neglect.

The political row comes as Bihar gears up for assembly elections expected later this year, likely between October and November, though official dates are yet to be announced.
