Expelled RJD leader Tej Pratap Yadav on Monday alleged that Congress MLA Vijay Kumar Singh’s driver and a journalist were assaulted during the ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ in Nabinagar, Aurangabad district of Bihar.

Sharing a video of the purported incident, Yadav criticised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and his brother, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, questioning their intent behind the yatra.

“I can’t understand whether Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav have set out to save democracy or tear it apart. The way MLA Vijay Kumar Singh’s driver and a media journalist were beaten and abused… is extremely wrong and shameful,” Yadav posted on X.

Condemning the incident, he urged Tejashwi Yadav to remain cautious of those around him, warning that ignoring such actions could have electoral consequences.

Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi continued his yatra in Aurangabad on Monday, visiting the Dev Surya Temple and later addressing a rally in Gaya. Day 3 will cover Navada and Bar Bigha via Nalanda.

The 16-day ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’, launched on Sunday from Sasaram, is aimed at protesting the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list in Bihar and alleged “vote chori.” The march will span over 1,300 km across 20 districts, culminating in Patna on September 1.

Parallelly, Tej Pratap Yadav has been holding independent rallies in several constituencies, with his last public meeting taking place in Mahua on Sunday.
