Indian actor Suniel Shetty has urged Hindus to participate in the Dharma Sansad organized by spiritual leader and Bhagwat Katha orator Devkinandan Thakurji Maharaj at the ongoing Mahakumbh in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. In a video message, Shetty highlighted the event’s primary objective—to establish a Sanatana Board aimed at protecting Hindu temples, gurukuls (traditional schools), and gaushalas (cow shelters).
“A historic moment awaits at the Prayagraj Mahakumbh. On January 27, crores will unite in devotion to Sanatana Dharma under the guidance of Devkinandan Thakurji Maharaj. A movement to establish the Sanatana Board will begin,” Shetty said in his appeal. He encouraged people to join the initiative, adding, “This is to protect our temples, gurukuls, and gaushalas. Let’s come together in devotion and commitment at the ‘Shanti Seva Shivir’ in Prayagraj.”
BJP MP Hema Malini also expressed support for the event, emphasizing its importance for the protection and promotion of Sanatana Dharma. “It is a matter of good fortune for all Sanatanis that the Mahakumbh is taking place in Prayagraj after 144 years. On January 27, the Dharma Sansad will focus on the formation of the Sanatana Board and safeguarding Sanatana Dharma under the leadership of Devkinandan Thakurji Maharaj,” she said.
The Dharma Sansad, led by Devkinandan Thakurji Maharaj, seeks to advocate for the creation of a Sanatana Board, which will ensure the welfare and security of Hindu institutions and traditions. Speaking to ANI, Thakurji Maharaj said, “We all want the Sanatana Board to be constituted. We are presenting a proposal to the government. All Dharmacharyas aim to ensure the welfare of Sanatana Dharma and the security of temples. Preparations are in full swing, and people are arriving in large numbers.”

In a video and subsequent posts on X, Devkinandan Thakurji Maharaj urged Hindus to attend the Dharma Sansad and support the demand for the Sanatana Board. “Raise your voice before the government about the Sanatana Board. Why this injustice to us? I pray before Modiji and Yogi ji as well. Sanatana people need Dakshina for this Kumbh, and that will be the Sanatana Board,” he said.
Calling for collective strength, Thakurji Maharaj described the Dharma Sansad as a “religious yajna” and appealed for unity. “Let us all come together and raise the demand for the establishment of a Sanatana Board with strength,” he posted on X.
Monday’s Dharma Sansad is expected to lay the foundation for drafting the constitution of the Sanatana Board. The initiative is seen as a significant step toward ensuring the preservation and promotion of Sanatana Dharma and its institutions.
