Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah launched a scathing attack on the Narendra Modi-led NDA government on its 11th anniversary, claiming it has earned “zero marks” despite being in power for over a decade. He accused the BJP of surviving on media-driven image building and neglecting the interests of states like Karnataka.

Speaking to media persons in Mysuru, Siddaramaiah said, “Modi has completed 11 years in power because of media publicity. Zero marks to the Modi government.”

The Chief Minister also questioned Prime Minister Modi’s inconsistency in policy positions. “When he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, he demanded a 50% share in central tax devolution for states. But after becoming Prime Minister, he has done the opposite,” Siddaramaiah said, alleging that Karnataka has been treated unfairly under the BJP-led Centre.

He added that despite repeated appeals, Karnataka continues to face step-motherly treatment. “When we raise our voices, BJP accuses us of slandering. But the injustice done to Karnataka cannot be ignored.”

Siddaramaiah’s criticism came on a day when BJP President and Union Minister JP Nadda highlighted the NDA government’s achievements over the past 11 years. Nadda praised the Modi administration for transforming India into the world’s fifth-largest economy and cited initiatives like Operation Ganga, India’s successful COVID-19 response, and welfare schemes for marginalized communities.

“In the last 11 years, we’ve seen massive transformation. India rose from the 10th to the 5th largest economy, and according to the latest IMF data, we are poised to become the 4th. During crises like the Ukraine war, PM Modi’s leadership rescued thousands under Operation Ganga,” Nadda said.

He also emphasized India’s global recognition for conducting the world’s largest vaccination drive, distributing over 220 crore free vaccine doses during the pandemic.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who first took office on May 26, 2014, is currently serving his third consecutive term. Marking the 11th anniversary, the Union government released an e-book outlining achievements across sectors such as infrastructure, digital governance, and social welfare.

While the BJP lauded the milestone as a symbol of decisive leadership and national transformation, the opposition, led by leaders like Siddaramaiah, has questioned the government’s actual impact on federal relations and grassroots development.
