Security forces have intensified vigilance in the RS Pura sector of Jammu following a foiled infiltration bid by an intruder attempting to cross the International Border (IB), officials confirmed on Saturday.

According to the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of BSF Jammu, the Border Security Force (BSF) troops observed suspicious movement across the border during the intervening night of April 4 and 5, 2025. Despite being challenged, the intruder continued advancing toward Indian territory, prompting BSF personnel to neutralise the threat.

“The intruder was warned but ignored repeated instructions to stop. Sensing danger, BSF troops neutralised him. His identity and motive are currently being investigated,” the PRO stated.

In response to the incident, the BSF has called for a flag meeting to lodge a formal protest with their Pakistani counterparts over the infiltration attempt.

This latest encounter has prompted increased patrolling and surveillance measures in the region to prevent further attempts.

The development comes just days after a Pakistani national was apprehended by BSF personnel in Amritsar district, after he crossed into Indian territory near Bharopal village. The individual was detained after ignoring initial warnings and is currently under interrogation.

Both incidents underline heightened security challenges along the Indo-Pak border, with the BSF reiterating its commitment to maintaining strict vigil and securing the borders against infiltration and unlawful movement.
