Ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday announced the release of the ‘Most Backward Justice Manifesto’, aimed at strengthening backward communities and enhancing their participation in social, educational, and political spheres.

In a post on social media platform X, Gandhi accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of spreading falsehoods and diversionary tactics, emphasizing Congress’ commitment to securing full rights for backward, Dalit, tribal, and minority communities.

He highlighted education as a key tool for progress, promising measures to increase access for marginalized communities.

“No matter how many lies and diversionary conspiracies the BJP may hatch, we are committed to ensuring full rights for the most backward, Dalit, tribal, minority, and backward communities. In Bihar, to strengthen the most backward community and increase their participation, we have made concrete promises in the ‘Most Backward Justice Manifesto’. Education is the greatest means of progress for these communities, so there are special resolutions to increase their access in this sector,” Gandhi said.

The manifesto also includes implementing reservations in private colleges and universities, allocating half of the reserved seats in private schools to SC/ST/OBC/EBC children, and ending unjust practices such as “Not Found Suitable” in appointments. Gandhi assured that these steps would ensure social justice and equitable development.

Congress MP Priyanka Vadra added that the INDIA bloc has released a 10-point resolution for the Extremely Backward Class (EBC), proposing higher reservation in local bodies, a new law against atrocities on their community, and special benefits in education, housing, and government contracts.

At the ‘Ati Pichhda Nyay Sankalp’ event in Patna, Rahul Gandhi assured that all ten commitments would be implemented if the INDIA bloc formed the government in Bihar.
