Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi will participate in the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting scheduled in Patna on Wednesday, as the party prepares its strategy for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections.

Several senior leaders have already reached Patna for the crucial gathering of the party’s highest decision-making body. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Congress MP Randeep Surjewala, and former Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel are among those attending.

Surjewala underlined Bihar’s historic role in shaping India’s political landscape, stating, “The land of Bihar has consistently created new history, from Champaran Satyagraha to the present day. The policy and ideological decisions the CWC will take under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge will prove equally far-reaching.”

Baghel, referring to Rahul Gandhi’s earlier remarks on caste census and “vote theft,” said, “The atomic bomb has been detonated, now we await the hydrogen bomb.”

Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar also sharpened his attack on Bihar’s ruling coalition, saying that governments formed through “vote theft” fail to address inflation, unemployment, and migration. “Fighting against vote theft means saving democracy,” he added.

The CWC meeting will be held at Sadaqat Ashram, Congress’ Bihar headquarters. Party president Mallikarjun Kharge, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, BPCC president Rajesh Ram, and other senior leaders are also expected to join.
