In his 12th Independence Day address from the Red Fort, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled an ambitious blueprint for India’s future, spanning high-tech manufacturing, massive employment generation, energy expansion, and national security measures — all aimed at achieving the goal of a developed India by 2047.
Outlining his vision for “Naya Bharat”, PM Modi announced landmark initiatives, including:
- Semiconductors in Mission Mode – India will produce its first Made-in-India chip by year-end, ending decades of missed opportunities.
- Tenfold Nuclear Power Growth – Capacity to surge with 10 new reactors and major clean energy expansion by 2047.
- Next-Gen GST Reforms – To be rolled out on Diwali, lowering taxes on essentials and boosting MSMEs and consumers.
- Reform Task Force – A dedicated body to drive governance and economic reforms toward a $10 trillion economy.
- ₹1 Lakh Crore Employment Push – Under the PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana, 3 crore youth to get ₹15,000/month in their first jobs.
- High-Powered Demography Mission – To counter illegal infiltration and safeguard border demographics.
- National Deepwater Exploration Mission – Harnessing ocean resources for energy independence alongside solar, hydrogen, hydro, and nuclear expansion.
- Made-in-India Jet Engines – A call to scientists and engineers to develop indigenous engines for fighter aircraft.
PM Modi likened these goals to the nation’s COVID vaccine achievement and UPI success, urging the youth to take up the challenge with determination.
Earlier, he hoisted the tricolour at the Red Fort and received a ceremonial guard of honour led by Wing Commander Arun Nagar. Around 5,000 special guests — including sportspersons, farmers, and international achievers — attended the celebrations.
