Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday paid floral tribute to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) founder Keshav Baliram Hedgewar at Smruti Mandir in Reshimbagh, Nagpur. He was accompanied by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and other dignitaries.

The Prime Minister landed in Nagpur around 9 AM, where he was received by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and other Maharashtra cabinet ministers. His visit includes multiple significant events:

  • Visit to Deekshabhoomi: PM Modi will pay tribute to Babasaheb Ambedkar at Deekshabhoomi, the site where Ambedkar embraced Buddhism along with thousands of followers in 1956.
  • Inauguration of Madhav Netralaya Premium Centre: At around 10 AM, he will lay the foundation stone for the new extension of Madhav Netralaya Eye Institute & Research Centre, a premier super-speciality ophthalmic care facility established in 2014.

RSS ideologue Ashutosh Adoni described the visit as “very important and historic,” emphasizing that it marks a special occasion in RSS’s 100-year journey. “A volunteer who is today the Prime Minister is coming to Smruti Mandir, making this visit historically significant,” he said.

RSS member Seshadri Chari highlighted that this is PM Modi’s first visit to Smruti Mandir after assuming office. “This is a celebration of 100 years of RSS. The organization has views on national issues, and the Prime Minister will continue to take them forward. The goal is to build a strong and developed India,” he remarked.

Following his engagements in Nagpur, PM Modi will travel to Chhattisgarh to lay the foundation stone for multiple development projects worth over ₹33,700 crore in Bilaspur. These projects span across power, oil and gas, railways, roads, education, and housing sectors, reinforcing the government’s commitment to national development.
