Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first edition of the School of Ultimate Leadership (SOUL) Leadership Conclave at Bharat Mandapam on Friday. Bhutan’s Prime Minister, Tshering Tobgay, joined him for the occasion.

The two-day conclave, held from February 21st to 22nd, serves as a premier platform for leaders from various fields—including politics, sports, arts, media, spirituality, public policy, business, and the social sector—to share their inspiring journeys and engage in discussions on leadership. The event aims to foster collaboration, thought leadership, and learning from both successes and setbacks to inspire younger audiences.

The School of Ultimate Leadership (SOUL) is an emerging institution in Gujarat focused on developing authentic leaders committed to advancing the public good. Its mission is to expand the landscape of political leadership in India through formal training, providing opportunities for those who rise through merit and passion for public service, not just political lineage.

SOUL seeks to equip individuals with the insights and skills needed to address the complex challenges of leadership in today’s world.

Prime Minister Modi expressed his happiness about Bhutan’s PM attending the conclave, sharing his excitement on X: “It is a matter of immense joy that Bhutan’s PM will be gracing the occasion.”

Bhutan’s Prime Minister arrived in Delhi on Thursday and was warmly welcomed by Union Minister of State for External Affairs, Pabitra Margherita.

Earlier this month, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel performed the Bhoomi Poojan for SOUL’s upcoming campus in Gandhinagar. The ceremony was attended by Sudhir Mehta, SOUL’s Board Chairman, and other distinguished guests. The state-of-the-art campus will span 22 acres near Gujarat Biotechnology University on GIFT City Road, and is set to be completed over the next two years at an estimated cost of Rs 150 crore.
