Reflecting on his time as Gujarat’s Chief Minister, PM Modi shared memories of collective efforts to protect wildlife. In a post on X, he praised the rising population of Asiatic lions and the contributions of tribal communities and local women in preserving their habitat.

PM Modi emphasized India’s success in wildlife conservation, noting population growth among tigers, leopards, and rhinos as a testament to the country’s dedication to sustainable animal habitats. He also extended wishes on World Wildlife Day, urging a continued commitment to preserving the planet’s biodiversity.

Gujarat’s ongoing efforts to protect Asiatic lions include the establishment of a National Referral Center for Wildlife and expansion projects like Bruhad Gir, which broadens conservation across a 30,000 sq. km area.
