On World Wildlife Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on a lion safari at Gujarat’s Gir National Park, home to the Asiatic lion. Dressed in a safari outfit and equipped with a camera, PM Modi captured moments of the majestic lions. He expressed his commitment to preserving biodiversity, stating, “Let’s safeguard their future for generations to come.”
The Prime Minister also highlighted India’s dedication to wildlife conservation and the protection of species. In Gujarat, efforts to preserve the Asiatic lion continue, with initiatives such as the creation of a National Referral Center for Wildlife and a new wildlife tracking center in Sasan. The recruitment of additional beat guards in Gir further bolsters conservation efforts.
PM Modi’s leadership in conservation, particularly the Bruhad Gir project, has expanded protection beyond Gir National Park, covering a vast 30,000 sq. km area. His efforts have also supported the development of the region, benefiting both wildlife and local communities.
