The PM is set to perform pooja and darshan at the winter seat of Maa Ganga in Mukhwa at around 9:30 am. Later, at 10:40 am, he will flag off a trek and bike rally, followed by a public address in Harsil.

Taking to X, CM Dhami welcomed PM Modi, stating, “Hearty welcome and greetings to the respected Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji on his arrival in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand, the holy land of religion, spirituality, and sacrifice. All of us residents of the state are eager to welcome the respected Prime Minister on the land full of spiritual and natural beauty of Mukhwa-Harshil (Uttarkashi).”

Ahead of the public meeting, large crowds have gathered in Harshil to witness the event.

PM Modi affirmed his government’s commitment to boosting tourism in Uttarakhand, stating, “We are committed to further strengthening the economy of the state by promoting tourism in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. I will have the opportunity to worship Maa Ganga in Mukhwa tomorrow morning, and after that, I will engage with my family members in Harshil.”

Expressing his excitement, PM Modi said, “I am very excited to visit the winter residence of the pure and pure Mother Ganga in Mukhwa. This holy place is famous all over the world for its spiritual significance and amazing beauty. It is a unique example of our resolve of ‘heritage as well as development.'”

CM Dhami also highlighted that the PM’s visit would help promote the Winter Tourism Programme, particularly the Sheetkal Yatra. He emphasized that the visit would raise the profile of Mukhwa and Gangotri Dham, boosting the local economy and providing year-round work for local businesses, including shops, taxi drivers, and guides.

This Winter Tourism initiative, launched by the Uttarakhand government, aims to attract more religious tourists to the region. Thousands of devotees have already visited the winter seats of Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath, with the program designed to promote religious tourism and support local businesses.
