Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday lauded the unified efforts of various political parties in condemning Pakistan globally after the Pahalgam terror attack, calling it a significant demonstration of national unity above political lines.

Speaking to the media ahead of the Monsoon Session of Parliament, PM Modi praised MPs across party affiliations who participated in international delegations to present a united front. “Keeping party interests aside, in the interest of the nation, representatives from most political parties traveled to various countries and jointly led a successful campaign to expose Pakistan before the world,” he said.

Expressing gratitude, the Prime Minister stated, “I appreciate all those MPs and parties. The country has seen the power of unity. While parties may differ on political interests, I believe that ‘Dal hit mein mat bhale na mile, lekin desh hit mein mann jarur mile’ (We may not agree on party matters, but our hearts must align in national interest).”

PM Modi also touched on India’s economic and social progress. He noted that 25 crore people have risen out of poverty in the last decade, and highlighted a significant drop in inflation—from double digits pre-2014 to around 2% today—bringing relief to ordinary citizens.

He further commended the security forces for their success in reducing Naxal violence, stating that many former red corridor regions are now becoming “green growth zones.” “Our Constitution is triumphing over Naxalism,” he remarked.

The Prime Minister’s address comes as the Monsoon Session, running from July 21 to August 21 with a mid-session break, is set to take up several critical bills, including amendments to the GST Act, Jan Vishwas Bill, IIM Act, and more. With a busy legislative agenda and anticipated opposition scrutiny, the session is expected to be politically intense.
