The Budget Session of Parliament will reconvene on Friday, with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman set to address the House regarding a “correction in Receipt Budget 2025-2026,” which was originally presented alongside the Union Budget on February 1.
According to the official list of business, the Lok Sabha will meet at 11:00 AM to deliberate on key legislative matters, including the presentation and discussion of multiple reports from standing committees. Later in the evening, around 6:00 PM, the House will take up the submission of Outstanding Demands for Grants for the Union Budget 2025-26. Sitharaman will also introduce a Bill authorizing the payment and appropriation of certain sums from the Consolidated Fund of India for the financial year 2025-26.
In addition to budget discussions, Union Ministers Arun Ram Meghwal, Prataprao Jadhav, Anupriya Patel, Shobha Karandlaje, and others will table various government documents. Meanwhile, Union Ministers Jagdambika Pal and Dharmendra Yadav will present the Fifteenth and Sixteenth Reports on government actions related to previous recommendations of the Public Accounts Committee. Reports from the Standing Committee on Communications and Information Technology, as well as reports on demands for grants for the Ministry of Mines, will also be tabled.
Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi is scheduled to move a motion for the House to agree with the Eighth Report of the Business Advisory Committee. The session will further include discussions and voting on the Demands for Grants under the Ministry of Jal Shakti and the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution for 2025-26.
The second part of the Budget Session, which commenced on March 10, is set to continue until April 4.
